A local library is expanding it’s family pass program to a popular kid-friendly spot in Uptown Normal.
The Bloomington Public Library is partnering with the Children’s Discovery Museum to give families the ability to get a pass that allows free admission for one family of four. This partnership will alow the library to circulate four of these passes to the museum. Passes are available for checkout now as of Monday, Aug. 20, and families will also be able to checkout the same passes at the Normal Public Library.
To add to the excitement, the Children’s Discovery Museum is launching a new initiative at the end of September called Museums for All, that will allow families who receive food assistance the ability to get three dollar admission, and full member benefit perks through a card that they can use for an unlimited time.
Shelly Hanover, the Director of Museum Experiences and Engagement, says she believes these new programs will allow families in the area the opportunity to experience something new, as well as lower prices for families who aren’t able to afford the museum’s regular admission price.
