CIRA holds temporary TSA Pre-Check enrollment center

BLOOMINGTON - A new security program at the Central Illinois Regional Airport is reeling in travelers who want quicker screening lines.

CIRA joined more than 180 other airports 2 weeks ago, adding the TSA Pre-Check program.

It allows passengers to go through an expedited security lane without having to take off their shoes, belts, and light jackets, or take electronics and liquids out of their bags.

From July 10-14, CIRA is holding a temporary Pre-Check enrollment center, allowing people to sign up.

"We want people to make sure to have access to enrolling in pre-check so we asked TSA to help us to enroll that, and start an enrollment center," said Fran Strebing, CIRA Deputy Director of Marketing.

The enrollment process is $85 for a 5-year membership. If you sign up, you'll need a background check.
