Taking out the trash in Peoria could get harder if there’s no place to take it.
“There’s a finite amount space in the landfill which means at some point, we will run out of space, if we don’t start planning for that now, when our children and our children’s children start throwing things away, there will be no place for it,” said 1st District Councilwoman, Denise Moore.
City and public works officials talked trash at a meeting Monday.
People were asked for their ideas when it comes to recycling, yard waste collection and trash disposal. The goal was finding new ways to get rid of garbage instead of taking it to the landfill.
Similar meetings have brought out the tireless project which has taken strides to clean up old tires.
