A local college received a generous donation from CityLink.
On Tuesday, the company donated a 35 ft. diesel bus to the Diesel Powered Equipment Technology Department at Illinois Central College.
The company says training local college students on how to work on buses, like the one the department received, will ensure that they’re job-ready when they graduate.
“Having the opportunity to work on the actual machine and take that knowledge that you learn in class, whether it be fuel systems, electronics, or whatever, then you can apply it to the machine,” says ICC student Nikki Chambliss. “So, doing that in class is extremely helpful.”
CityLink used the bus for 13 years before donating it to ICC.
