Common Place Family Learning Center is celebrating the renovation of the Youth Program House.
The program helps local youth with academic support.
The after school program will begin Sept. 10 and cater to kindergarten through 8th grade students.
“We now have new bathrooms, new kitchen, new craft center, the upstairs is completely redone,” says Pam Rumba, Executive Director of Common Place. “This will be wonderful to have the house back.”
Organizers said this will help our youth in a positive way.
“When they come into us, we do homework right away,” Rumba said. “So having the 2nd and 3rd graders have a place where we can really focus on their age group, make everything age appropriate for them, and not have them share a room with someone else, it’s really important.”
State Farm supported the program by donating a $5,000 check Wednesday.
