UPDATE (8:35 p.m.) — Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood released the name of the woman who died in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning.
According to Harwood, 22-year-old Ashley Gase of Peoria was in the back seat of the car that crashed into a pick-up truck near SW Washington and Edmund Street.
Gase was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:09 a.m. The autopsy showed that Gase suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries, and died instantly.
The toxicology is still pending per Illinois State Statute. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Peoria Police Department.
UPDATE — At about 4:24 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 16, Peoria Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the corner of SW Washington and Edmund Street
Three individuals were transported to a local hospital via ambulance. Two were transported with serious injuries, and one with minor injuries.
A fourth person, an adult female, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Peoria Fire, AMT, and the Peoria County Coroner were on the scene. An investigation is currently ongoing.
SW Washington is now fully open for traffic in all directions.

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — Officials are investigating a crash that shut down part of Route 24 early Monday morning.
Police have shut down both lanes along Route 24 and Chicago for the crash.
Drivers are encouraged to take a different route.
