Union laborers in normal are making it easier for students to visit the outdoors. Workers took to Eugene Field School to build a wheelchair path for the accessible students.
After four long days of preparing the ground the concrete was poured Thursday afternoon.
“The need is there and we are all about helping,” said Scott Nimmo Local 18 Cement Mason. “The laborers and the finishers work closely together all the time. so its a great feeling to be able to do it.”
The path is set to be completed in the next 3-4 days. However, it will not be usable for another week or so. Nimmo says the reason is because they have to do grading on the surface before it is deemed serviceable.
