Crews battling fire at Princeville Restaurant

PRINCEVILLE Ill- Several crews worked for hours overnight and into the early morning to battle a structure fire at a restaurant, Los Jimadores, in Princeville. 

The building is considered to be at risk for collapse.

The structure includes two apartments above the restaurant and two apartments on the ground level. One person from the apartment above the restaurant had to be evacuated, along with three others in the apartment next door. No one was injured, but a cat did die from the fire. 

Displaced neighbors received help form the American Red Cross and took shelter at the Akron-Princeville Firehouse. 

According to the Ameren outage map, power has been restored for residents in the village. 

Princeville, Ill – First responders are at the scene of a fire at the 132 North Walnut Avenue.

Fire crews were called to the scene of a fire Monday night at Los Jimadores around 9:00 p.m.

Crews have been battling the fire for more than an hour.

Several crews are on scene including Princeville, Dunlap, Wyoming and Toulon Fire Departments, the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office and Ameren. 

The American Red Cross is providing canteen service for first responders.

Heavy smoke can be seen from miles away. 

Peoria County leaders say Route 91 is closed at Evans St.
