Cyber attacks resolved at Peoria Notre Dame

Local News

After a month long investigation, the Peoria Police Department has found the person responsible for cyber attacks at a local high school.

The department’s detective bureau says a 14-year-old student at Peoria Notre Dame used a school laptop to hack into the school’s computer system.

Peoria Notre Dame principal Randy Simmons sent a letter home to parents explaining the school was the target of a “Denial of Service” attack sometime before Oct. 4. Peoria P.D. believe the teen didn’t appear to have any malicious intent during the attack.
