PEORIA, Ill. — Closing arguments took just a couple of hours in the trial against Brendt Christensen Monday. Christensen is accused of kidnapping and killing Chinese scholar Yingying Zhang in 2017.

Just before lunch, the judge swore in court security officers. They will act as the middle-man between the jurors and judge throughout deliberations.

The judge will alert the media 30 minutes before the verdict is announced.

Aaron Eades from our sister station, WCIA, has been in the courtroom throughout the entire trial. He has been tweeting the details of the trial.
