DIY crafts with a twist may spruce up the Warehouse District

PEORIA, Ill. — City leaders will vote on a proposal Tuesday to bring Crafter DIY Studio and Bar to the Warehouse District.

This start-up business owned and operated by Jodie Vieira. It will offer 20 unique projects with tools, materials, and instructions to create hand-crafted items.

The desired location is at 807 SW Adams near Rambler and Zion Coffee.

Councilwoman Denise Moore said she’s happy to see more business bringing life to the district.

The warehouse district is becoming a unique destination location and when we have businesses like this one who are interested in coming to the downtown and to the Warehouse District they actually make a huge financial investment before they even come into the city to find out how much they can do.

If you like crafts, Moore said this may be a place for you.

“Anyone who’s ever watched HGTV or the home shows or is a crafty kind of person will appreciate what they’re going to do here,” she said.

The project’s budget is estimated at $486,000.
