A local superintendent is receiving high praise for the hard work she’s done in her school district.
Dr. Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat is named the 2018 Superintendent of Distinction by her colleagues in the Central Illinois Valley Region of the Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA).
Dr. Kherat, the superintendent of Peoria Public Schools, was honored at an awards luncheon Tuesday in Springfield. State Superintendent Dr. Tony Smith was the featured speaker at the luncheon, where 21 IASA regional Superintendents of Distinction were honored.
“I am surprised and honored and very much appreciate my colleagues recognizing me with this distinction,” says Dr. Kherat. “I high respect the work of my peers and enjoy working with them, making this award that much more revered.”
Dr. Kherat has been an educator for over 20 years, with the last three years as Superintendent of Peoria Public Schools.
