EAST PEORIA, Ill. — The East Peoria Fire Department is having its fourth annual breast cancer awareness t-shirt sale.

You can buy a t-shirt at the Eastside Centre.

Short sleeve t-shirts are $15 and long sleeve shirts are $18. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The aim of the foundation is to aid in the research of preventing and curing breast cancer.

Members of the EPFD said they love to run the program each year.

“We’ve taken an oath to serve our community and by wearing our breast cancer t-shirts, I feel like were giving back to the community showing our support,” said fire department lieutenant Veronica Marmitt. “Just showing that we’re a member of the community and supporting people affected by it, because I’m pretty sure everyone is affected by it in some way some how, friend or family.”

Shirt orders must be submitted by Sept 15. and are available for pickup on Oct 1. For more information visit https://www.cityofeastpeoria.com/ or call (309) 427-7768.
