East Peoria residents could soon get the chance to vote on a potential shift in the city’s governing styles.
Currently, the city is led by the mayor and four commissioners, but some say the city should consider a managerial form of government.
Under that form, the East Peoria City Council handles policy changes while a city manager is appointed to oversee city money.
This week, the council approved putting the issues in the hands of voters. At the end of the month, the country clerk will next decide whether to certify the ballot questions.
