Easter Egg Hunt educates community about signs of a stroke

Local News

With Easter being right around the corner adults decided to have some fun of their own while supporting the United Stroke Alliance.

The first inaugural Great Egg Scramble event at the Peoria River Front Museum helped the community learn the signs of a stroke.

Stroke survivors and caregivers at the event scrambled to find eggs to win prizes.

United Stroke Alliance CEO Larry Schaer says the purpose of Friday’s event is not only to have fun, but to be exposed.

“We would like them to walk away tonight thinking this is a great event and that we need to do more about educating our community about stroke,” Schaer said.

Learning the signs of a stroke can prepare you to help a victim of a stroke in the future.
