EAST PEORIA - Illinois’ Texas Roadhouse restaurants are teaming up with local law enforcement agencies to invite communities across the state to enjoy free lunch fundraisers for Special Olympics Illinois on Thursday and Friday.
At the luncheons, local law enforcement officers will collect monetary donations and 100 percent will go to support Special Olympics Illinois. Since 2011, this event has raised more than $472,000 -- raising almost $93,000 last year alone.
Each location will hold the event from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
The East Peoria location, at 600 Riverside Dr, will participate Friday.
The free lunch includes a pulled pork sandwich, corn, fresh baked bread with honey-cinnamon butter and a non-alcoholic beverage.
The locations participating Thursday include those in Springfield, Champaign, Forsyth, Shiloh and Edwardsville.
The locations participating Friday other than East Peoria include Joliet, Sycamore, Naperville, Tinley Park, Rockford, Bradley, Quincy, Countryside and Crystal Lake.
