Farmington, Kickapoo Creek roads to see closures Monday

Local News

WEST PEORIA — The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) said the north leg of the intersection of Kickapoo Creek and Farmington roads as well as the intersection of Farmington and Red Bud Drive will close to all traffic Monday.

The closures are necessary as part of the reconstruction of these intersections and the replacement of the Farmington Road bridge over Kickapoo Creek. The intersections are expected to remain closed until late October. Detours will be posted to guide motorists safely around the work zone.

Drivers can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
