Former federal prosecutor talks run for attorney general

PEORIA - There's a crowded field of Democrats running for attorney general of Illinois, an unlikely scenario until Lisa Madigan shocked political observers by announcing last year she would not run for re-election.

Former federal prosecutor Renato Mariotti sat down with Central Illinois On the Record to discuss the race and why he should be the state's top law enforcement officer.

Mariotti also discussed some of the issues facing candidates in the race.

The partner at Thompson and Coburn LLP also discussed the upcoming candidate forum and what sets him apart from the other candidates in the field.
