MORTON - Morton School District and the Morton Education Association (MEA) have removed Band Director, Jeff Neavor, from his position with the band but is allowing him to remain at Morton High School as a teacher.
Neavor has been accused of having an inappropriate relationship with another school employee whom he supervised.
The District and MEA held a meeting Thursday night to make a decision on what's best for Morton students and the community.
A letter from the school district stated there will be no disciplinary action taken against Neavor.
"We are putting this situation behind us and moving forward together. To maintain the focus on the students, we've decided this will be the last statement on the Band Director position and related matters. We are pleased to have this matter resolved" writes Superintendent Jeffrey Hill.
Neavor will continue teaching at Morton High school and assist with the transition of the new Band Director.
