Four new alderman are joining the Bloomington City Council after Tuesday’s election.

In Ward 2, Donna Boelen beat Georgene Chissell 60 percent to 40 percent. Julie Emig defeated Don Frank with 59 percent to 41 percent in Ward 4.

After serving the city since 1999, Karen Schmidt was defeated by Jenn Carrillo in Ward 6, with Carrillo receiving 55 percent to 45 percent.

In Ward 8, Jeff Crabill defeated Travis Wilson, with 74 percent of the votes. Wilson did not meet requirements to run for Ward 8 so he was forced to drop out of the race. His name remained on the ballot.

Michael Trask and Meta Mickens-Baker will serve on the board for two year terms.
