PEORIA, Ill.– You can help bring aid to veterans in need by purchasing “Seats for Soldiers” at Dozer Park through Tuesday.
The event runs Monday through Tuesday, beginning at 6 a.m. Dr. Chris Michaels of 104.9 The Wolf will take his seat in section 104 and move seats with every donation that’s made to “Hope for the Warriors.” This is the fourth year Dr. Chris will sit for 36 hours straight raise awareness.
“36 hours […] really, the big picture is nothing. It’s going to be rainy, it’s going to be dark and a little chilly tonight, we will sleep in the seats, but 36 hours really isn’t that big of a deal,” said Michaels. “So many people in this area have connection to the military. We have military right here in town, everybody has a story, so we are going to do whatever we can to help.”
“Unfortunately, when a large number of our Armed Forces return home from serving our country they find themselves jobless, sometimes feeling hopeless or struggle with issues such as PTSD,” he said. “Thirty-six hours is nothing compared to the sacrifice of our men and women in the military. We are eager to team up with Presley’s Outdoors and Trouble-Free Heating Cooling and Plumbing to help raise money for Hope For The Warriors.”
Hope For the Warriors is a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family, and hope for post-9/11 veterans, service members and military families.
