Funks Grove murder case is one step closer to being over

MCLEAN COUNTY - A Funks Grove murder case is coming to a close.

Wednesday, Christine Roush was sentenced to 40 years in prison. She pleaded guilty to killing her mother, Teresa Poehlman.

Poehlman's body was found at the Funks Grove Nature Preserve back in July.

Even though the state recommended 50 years, Judge Freitag said he believed she has expressed true remorse.

Matthew Isbell is still awaiting trial in the case.
