PEORIA, Ill. — Community pocket change is adding up to help military families.

On Tuesday, Schnucks announced it donated more than $1.25 million to the Folds of Honor Foundation.

Over one million of that was raised through their round up at the register program. It allowed shoppers to round up their totals to the nearest dollar to donate.

Folds of Honor is a non-profit that provides scholarships to families of veterans who were killed or injured.

Over 250 scholarships will be awarded to support kids and spouses. The money was presented before the St. Louis Cardinals game on July 12.

Since 2007, Folds of Honor has donated more than $130 million in scholarships.
