BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Grossinger Motors Arena had a successful fiscal year, as losses were not as bad as expected.
For the last two fiscal years, the city-owned arena reported losses of over $660,000, but in their latest unaudited report, the arena reported losses just shy of $271,000.
Leaders attribute the success to listening to the community and providing shows of great interest.
“I think there is a lot of factors that come into play when you are managing a new building as a company,” said VenuWorks Executive Director, Lynn Cannon. “You don’t understand exactly what the issues may be when you start, but we’ve managed to get to the point where we are doing very well.”
Cannon says, though the losses are lower than expected, they still are losses, and the staff is looking forward to improving in the future.
