A Central Illinois city is adapting to its growth.
Along with the 2013 tornado that changed Washington’s landscape, the city is expanding. The Chamber of Commerce is preparing to publish a new map to reflect those changes.
Leaders say the old-fashioned navigational tool is helpful for visitors and new neighbors.
“We give it out to new residents when they are coming into town, or visitors that are coming into Washington,” says Chamber of Commerce Director Chevie Kriete. “It is a great way for them to see their way around town and a great way for a business to get their information right there in front of those people.”
The Chamber hopes to have the maps available in July.
