Heartland Community College President search down to four

NORMAL, Ill. - Heartland Community College has chosen four finalists in the search for a new college president.

The Presidential Search Advisory Committee met in early February to interview a group of semifinalists and have narrowed the pool down to the four candidates.

Each of the four candidates will visit Heartland Community College for interviews and will participate in forums to speak with employees and the public.

Here are the visit dates from candidates:

  • February 22-23
  • February 26-27
  • March 1-2
  • March 5-6

There will be a Community and Alumni open session from 11:45 a.m to 12:30 p.m. on the first day of each campus visit, which the public is invited to attend and meet the candidate during their visit.

Individual candidate names will be released the week of that candidate's visit to campus.

The next President of the college is expected to take office in July of 2018.

Current President Rob Widmer will retire on June 30.
