The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will be working on pothole patching on both sides of Interstate 474 in the work zone near the Adams Street exit on Friday.

During the work, traffic will be stopped for 10-15 minutes at a time.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, IDOT encourages drivers to use alternate routes.

Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and be alert for workers and equipment.
