EAST PEORIA, Ill.– Illinois Central College at East Peoria’s campus will soon have a natural-looking wetland that could potentially act as a wildlife or a pollinator habitat.
ICC is anticipating students from at least three departments to utilize the wetland.
The main purpose of the wetland is to remove nitrate that is found in the runoff water form 50 acres of farmland on campus.
An open house for the wetland is scheduled for Thursday and the project is expected to be completed Friday.
