IDOT reopens lanes for July 4 travel

Local News

Drivers will see minimal construction during their July 4 travels.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that non-emergency roadwork from 3 p.m. Wednesday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday will be suspended.

Certain lanes that have been closed for construction will reopen for the Independence Day holiday to minimize travel disruption.

In Peoria County, the following lane closures will remain in place during the holiday weekend:

  • Interstate 474 between Airport Road and the Illinois River
  • Illinois 29 (Adams Street) between Abington Street and Sloan Street in Peoria.
