PEORIA, Ill. — Ignite Peoria, a creative festival, is back in the River City for its sixth year on Saturday.
This free event showcases local artists and performers.
The whole family can try new interactive things like painting, robotics, and event some computer coding. There will be 27 performances going on throughout the day for people to enjoy.
New this year is the Sensory Ignite area, which is especially designed for people who have sensory sensitivities.
“We want to spark creativity in our community. Peoria has a really vibrant art scene, a vibrant maker scene. We want to connect new people with what we currently have,” said Jenn Gordon, Executive Director if ArtsPartners, “We tend to say we are our best kept secret. We don’t want that to be the case. Ignite Peoria is a chance to bring your whole family out, have them go through the event and try new things.”
Ignite Peoria is happening Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Peoria Civic Center. Entrance and parking are free.
