SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — People from around the state have made their way to Springfield for the Illinois State Fair.
Friends and families have enjoyed the food, the rides, and the shows.
This year, organizations came together to make 2019 the best one yet, and it’s working. The fair set a record for grandstand revenue just five days into the 2019 festivities, and other fair-goers are noticing.
“The fair committee and the whole agriculture department has really worked on this fair to try to make it kid and family friendly,” said Lois Guffey, Owner of Country Fryer. “There is senior citizen stuff here, there’s kids stuff, there’s all of the animals, the coliseum is back this year which is absolutely gorgeous… so it’s like the Illinois State Fair used to be.”
The state fair runs through this Sunday. You can find more information here.
