Illinois State University is proud to share with the community a new facility created with inclusion in mind.
A new ropes challenge course was built to adapt to people with physical limitations. One of the features is a lower angled climbing wall. Others are harnesses with cushion seating and a pulley system.
“Putting some intentionality behind the design wasn’t that difficult to do. It’s really not difficult to at any point to make things inclusive for people with disabilities. Able-minded people have to think in that mind set,” said Rachel Iversen, ISU Assistant Director for Adventure Programs.
This challenge course is available for students, businesses and community members who are interested in participating in team building activities.
