DUNLAP, Ill. — Eating Italian food is helping kids pay for college.
On Sunday, the Italian American Society held its annual festa to celebrate Italian heritage in the area.
“We enjoy sharing our culture. A big thing about the Italian culture is all about family and about food, which is the center of the festa here,” said Bob Wille, the president of the society.
For three dollars, people had a chance to listen to music, enjoy Italian food, and celebrate their heritage.
The 90th annual event raises money for its scholarship program.
The society awarded scholarships to students at Illinois Central College, Bradley University, and Eureka College.
