PEORIA HEIGHTS, Ill. – The IVY club hosted more than 25 boat and yacht clubs for their Invitational Cardboard Boat Race Monday along the Illinois River.

Participants in both the youth and adult competition were able to compete with boats made out of cardboard, gorilla tape and superglue.

There were races to decide the fastest boat, and voting was open to decide the best in show. Votes cost a dollar, and all proceeds went to the Alzheimer’s Association.

“Throughout the year, the IVY Club hosts several events to benefit local non-profits. We are delighted to support the Alzheimer’s Association, Central Illinois Chapter again in 2019,” said Mike Ford, IVY Club Commodore.
