Secretary of State Jesse White will not be retiring after all.
Instead he plans on seeking a 6th term.
White said in 2015 he would not seek re-election.
It was during the Annual Illinois Democratic County Chairmen’s Association Breakfast he said that he changed his mind.
He also said he had no plans to step down midway through his term should a Democrat win the Governor’s office.
White is the state’s longest serving Secretary of State.
