BLOOMINGTON, Ill.– A man underwent surgery Saturday morning after being stabbed in the neck.
The Bloomington Police Department responded to the 300 block of East Jefferson Street at approximately 3:15 a.m. for reports of a fight.
BPD said during the fight, one man was stabbed and suffered significant injuries. The suspect, Elbert Hawkins, 50, is charged with aggravated battery/ use of a deadly weapon. He was jailed in lieu of $10,035 and ordered to avoid contact with the other man.
The victim was taken to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center. His current condition is unknown at this time.
