Kewanee police investigating Sunday shooting

KEWANEE, Ill. — The Kewanee Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two people injured.

The KPD received the call of a shooting at a residence in the 100 block of N. Vine St. Officers found a 25-year-old male with a gunshot wound, as well as a 26-year-old female victim with blunt force injuries.

Both were transported to St. Luke’s Medical Center for treatment. The male victim was later transported to St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria and both of their conditions are unknown at this time.

The Henry-Mercer Investigative Task Force was activated to conduct the investigation.

Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services processed the scene and Agents and Investigators are actively furthering the investigation.
