Kid’s Day 2019 seeks to bring family and community together

Local News

Families from Central Illinois got to enjoy a time of fun under the sun at Crittenton Centers’ Kid’s Day 2019, in East Peoria. Children of all ages got to get their faces painted, jump on bouncy houses and even cool off under the heat with some water games.

They also got to talk to firefighters and police officers and even check out how their vehicles look inside.

This is the 13th year the organization has put on the family event. Organizers’s hope is to bring people together.

“We want to keep going with this event because it’s such a great way to be mission centered. Our mission statement is to protect our family, children and families. Strong communities bring together strong families and strong individuals,” said Abby Colvin, special events coordinator at Crittenton Centers.

Volunteers from the South Side Missions and Mission Peoria were there to support the cause.
