Ldr Brady: Expanding gaming could pay for capital spending

Local News

Republican Senate Leader Bill Brady is looking forward to Gov. Rauner’s budget address in Feb.

He expects Rauner will make proposals that would give taxpayers relief following the income tax hike approved in July and the GOP-tax plan passed in Washington last month that capped state and local tax deductions.

Brady says expanded gaming opportunities across the state could be an option when it comes to paying for a capital bill.

He says there are pros and cons, but if it’s something voters support, it could be a way to raise revenue.
