LE ROY, Ill. — Steve Dean, the mayor of Le Roy, is setting up a job fair to help those impacted by the surprise shutdown of the Pioneer processing plant.

The job fair is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Fellowship Hall of the city’s First United Methodist Church. It will run through noon.

“A job fair seemed to be in order to assist in finding other employment, and is not restricted to Pioneer employees,” Dean said.

Participants in the job fair include PrideStaff, Career Link, Automated Agri Systems, G4S Secure Solutions, Alexander Truss, Bayer, Maxwell Counters, and other local employers.

The church is located at 201 North Chestnut Street.

The plant closed its doors Wednesday.
