Some rebellion continues across Peoria

PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — There were multiple reports of fires and break-ins throughout Peoria late Monday and early Tuesday.

Dozens of cars were weaving throughout Peoria near Sheridan Ave and Sheridan Rd just before 1 a.m. Heavy police presence on Urban Beauty Supply on Sheridan.

Police were watching from patrol cars until reports of a fight brought officers and state troopers running. At the same intersection Sunday evening, before reports of looting started coming in.

Additionally, the Peoria Fire Department responded to three suspected arsons throughout the evening. Acting Battalion Chief Scott Strum said two of these structures were determined to be vacant and two were occupied. Three of the fires are suspected of arson and one determined unintentional.

No firefighters or civilians reported injury at the time of this report.
