Local bookstore owner is gaining national attention

PEORIA, Ill. — Local bookstore owner, Stacy Hardin, is gaining national recognition.

She owns book racks used books and started bedtime stories in March. She posts videos of herself reading children’s books on Facebook.

“I posted on Facebook that we were going to be doing that, and we had a really great response,” Hardin said. 

Since then, Hardin has had thousands of views and even hosts guest readers.

She’s hosted community members, police officers, and players from the Peoria Chiefs. 

“Kids really like books. I mean they like reading. And if you can’t read yet, you love to listen to someone else read to you,” Hardin said.

Bedtime Stories is gaining attention and Hardin was interviewed in Forbes. 

“I was so excited. My husband was here and I think my jaw, he had to pick it up off the floor,” Hardin said.
