Local distillery announces closure

JK Williams closing

EAST PEORIA - East Peoria distiller JK Williams is closing in the coming weeks.

The family-owned whiskey business opened in 2013 and, according to a media release, has won several awards for its whiskey and bourbon.

The distillers say they intend to focus more time on the Williams family.

“We have poured our passion into our handcrafted whiskey for the past 4 years, and we are proud of our family’s accomplishments," said Jesse Williams, head distiller. "We especially appreciate all of the support and encouragement we have received from the local community and our fellow whiskey lovers.”

The business will remain open through February.

The tasting room and retail shop will be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 12-5 p.m. and on Sundays from 12-4 p.m.
