PEORIA - Family and friends of Lemont Brown Jr. came together Tuesday night.
Brown was killed early Sunday morning at the intersection of Antoinette and Shelley. His family, friends and loved ones gathered at that same intersection to remember him.
The 25-year-old had a large support system as dozens came with balloons and prayers.
"After all this is over with she still has to go through day by day dealing with the loss of her child," said family friend Margaret Williams. "So that's why we are here, to support and make sure that something gets done about this."
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said Brown had a single gunshot wound to the upper back, which caused a severe amount of bleeding.
At this point, police are still searching for a suspect in this case.
