Friends and family gathered in Peoria Monday evening to honor two men killed in a crash over the weekend. 29 year-old Cordero Henderson and 25 year-old Jeremy Burnside died after a car crash on Sheridan and Eleanor.

Burnside’s mother, Veronica says the third person in the car is her son, she says he’s recovering at a local hospital.

“It’s gonna be tough but the support of the people and the community is really outpouring so I appreciate everyone,” said Veronica Weeams

Those in attendance during Monday’s vigil didn’t let the rain stop them from honoring the men. Loved ones call this a shocking loss but say they’re glad to have the community’s support.

“It’s shocking, now we’re trying to make sure the kids are going to be okay,” said Janie Bradley.

Still no word on what caused the tragic crash.
