Family, friends and loved ones all gathered to remember the life of Markesha Jeffries in the parking lot of the Associated Bank in Peoria on Brandywine, the same spot she was killed on Tuesday.
Loved ones lit candles, the entire parking lot was silent as every remembered a wife and mother of five.
Markesha is remembered as loving, caring, compassionate. I spoke with her mother-in-law, she said as soon as she heard the news, she dropped everything and came down from Chicago.
“My grandkids are hurting, and I want the world to know those babies miss their mom, my son misses his wife.” said Devita Jeffries, Mother-In-Law of Markesha.
The suspect in this murder, Sheyanah Lee faces up to 60 years in prison. Lee will be back in court on Dec. 27.
