Man convicted for 2015 teenager murder gets 95 years in prison

PEORIA, Ill. — Alex Collins, 24, is set to spend the rest of his life in prison after he was sentenced to 95 years on Tuesday.

Collins, along with four other men, were indicted for the shooting murder of 14-year-old high school student Tommie Forest in October 2015. Forest was found with a gunshot wound to the head. 

Three other teenagers were also shot during the home invasion. 

Forest was at a sleepover on North Flora Ave when the group of men broke into the house. The other four arrested were Kiangelo Marshall, Samuel Clay, Alex Collins and Kainen Lacy. 

Collins was sentenced to 60 years for the murder count and 35 years for the attempted murder charge.
