Man involved in June shooting arrested

The Peoria Police Department arrested 25-year-old Tydwon T. Long Monday after a June 17 incident involving a man being shot near Taft Homes. 

Long was arrested for the following: Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Firearm without a Valid FOID, Possession of a Firearm/Vehicle/Gang Member, Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Battery/Use of a Deadly Weapon.

The victim in the June shooting, a 31-year old-male, had gunshot wounds to the leg and back and suffered non-life threatening injuries. During the course of the investigation, detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division gathered information that led to identifying Long. 

Long was transported to the Peoria County Jail. He was arrested in the area of Wayne/Adams.

Additionally, Long had two Peoria County Warrants on file: Failure to Appear – Assault, and Failure to Appear – Resisting Arrest, Battery.
