PEORIA, Ill. – A Mapleton man has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for receiving and possessing child pornography.

Sills was arrested last October after federal investigators discovered there was a computer in Sills’ home being used to download the pornography. After a search warrant was executed, Sills admitted to authorities he had been accessing child pornography with the computer since the 1990’s. Special agents seized 1,322 images and 73 videos of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

Sills pleaded guilty to the charges in federal court in Peoria in January. He will be required to register as a sex offender and will remain on supervised release for 10 years after he gets out of prison.
