The Board of Directors for Methodist College announced the resignation of the school’s president Tuesday.
Dr. Kimberly Johnston is stepping down after 11 years.
“For personal reasons, I regret that I will be leaving my position as President of Methodist College. It is my hope that during my tenure as President, I helped contribute to making Methodist College what it is today,” says Dr. Johnston.
Johnston and her husband plan to relocate to Pennsylvania to be closer to family.
Vice president of academic affairs, Dr. Deborah Garrison, will serve as Interim President. She’s been with the college since Summer 2015. The Board of Directors will begin its search for a new president later this summer.
